Boutique Hotel Bode in Chattanooga adds Dawn Cafe and Dusk Cocktail Bar
A downtown Chattanooga boutique hotel is adding new food and beverage options for overnight guests and local guests from dawn to dusk.
The Bode Hotel, which opened in 2019 in the former Clemons Lofts apartment complex in Chestnut and 8th Streets, recently added a cocktail bar known as Dusk to its first-floor lobby area and by July 15 will add a cafe bar known as Dawn on the other part of the first floor entrance.
Zion Freeman, chief brand officer of the Irvine, Calif.-based investment group that owns the Bode, said in a phone interview Thursday that the additions are designed to make better use of space on the first floor of the 6-storey building. floors, create a more inviting environment. and provide more dining options for hotel guests and downtown guests.
“We hope to roll out additional Dawn and Dusk locations at some of our other hotels, but Chattanooga is the first property to get these new additions, and we believe they will be a great addition for our guests and for downtown workers. city and visitors looking for a coffee or breakfast in the morning or a cocktail in the evening,” Freeman said. “The whole concept is like a summer campfire or a nostalgic road trip with a REI store theme in Dusk.”

Dusk opened a few weeks ago and can accommodate around 30 people. It is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Dawn will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a co-working space for people to work while enjoying their coffee and breakfast and lunch selections, Freeman said.
Dawn will offer a variety of coffees as well as items such as granola and fruit bowls, breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast. Lunch items include three selections of his campfire hot dogs, as well as items such as guacamole and fries and a selection of nacho entrees, Freeman said. Dusk is a cocktail bar offering a variety of cocktails and beers, with lunch options available throughout the evening.

TMC Group in Irvine, Calif., which bought the 92-year-old Clemons building for $10 million last year, opened the Bode as a boutique hotel with one-, two-bedroom suites and three bedrooms to accommodate family and other downtown visitors. Located on the outskirts of the West Village, the Bode is seeing increased occupancy in the wake of the pandemic, Freeman said.
“People are eager to get out and travel again, and we’re expecting a solid summer,” Freeman said. “The market definitely recovered in Chattanooga, and we saw a huge jump and about peak occupancy in Nashville.”
TMC Hospitality operates Bode Hotels in Nashville and Chattanooga and a Drift Hotel in Mexico.
