International award for the design of a luxury hotel spa suite
A South Lakes interior design studio won an international award for its work at a luxury hotel in the Lake District.
Nielsen House’s work on the spa suites at the Gilpin Hotel in Windermere won the title of Best Hotel Suite in Europe 2021 at the International Hotel and Property Awards, held in Capri.
The Staveley-based company worked with three other Cumbrian companies on the sequels.
The awards are aimed at congratulating design, recognizing talent, creating opportunity and providing inspiration. About 15,000 design professionals voted for the winners in all categories.
The accolade given to Nielsen House and its interior layout for Gilpin’s luxury spa capsules recognizes the studio’s creativity and adaptability to its purpose.
The Pods are the hotel’s first wet suites, and the award organizers praised the team for the use of natural materials, their ability to connect their designs to nature to bring the outdoors in and produce ‘exceptionally’ finishes. unexpected and unique ”.
Nielsen House founder Sarah Jane Nielsen described the spa suites as an interesting and rewarding project, both beautiful and practical. their expertise in their areas of specialization, claiming that the award is recognition that Cumbrian companies are at the forefront of design and is the result of successful teamwork.
She added: “As four local Cumbrian / Lakes companies working together with the common goal of providing Gilpin with the most exceptional experiences for customers, we have been able to produce a set of spectacular designs both internal and external. that make us all extremely proud.
