Parking and Traffic Alert – Duke University

DURHAM, North Carolina – Duke Athletics will host several events on West Campus this weekend:

  • Thursday May 12 – Saturday May 14 – 2022 ACC Outdoor Athletics Championships at Morris Williams Stadium
  • Friday, May 13 – NCAA Super Regionals Women’s Tennis Championship #3 Duke vs #14 Georgia at 5 p.m. at Ambler Tennis Stadium
  • Friday, May 13 – Sunday, May 15 – Baseball vs. NC State at Jack Coombs Field

Please see information below for designated parking lots on match days for each event. Please allow extra time in your travels to avoid delays. A parking map can be found in the “related links” accompanying this alert. On game day, please follow the directions of parking attendants who direct guests to available parking areas.

ACC OUTDOOR TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS PARKING INFORMATION – THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY

Team bus and van loading and parking area – A temporary unloading/loading area is available on Frank Bassett Drive (GPS address: 147 Frank Bassett Drive) outside Morris Williams Stadium from 07:00 each competition day. Team vehicles are NOT permitted to unload/load at University bus stops at any time. Team buses shuttling between meet attendees should use the Grounds Lot located at the end of Frank Bassett Drive to exit onto NC 751/Cameron Blvd. Remaining team buses and team vans will be parked in the Grounds Lot at the end of Frank Bassett Drive. Team buses and vans will not be permitted to park in any other locations.

General public and reception staff/volunteers Garage Parking – is available in Science Walk Garage (GPS address: 3100 Cameron Boulevard) located at NC 751/Cameron Blvd. The car park opens Thursday at 7:00 a.m., Friday at 7:00 a.m. and Saturday at 7:00 a.m. The Science Drive garage entrance is located at the permit entrance of NC 751/Cameron Blvd. – no parking available at the JB Duke hotel. Parking is free. There is no tailgating allowed in the garage (including the roof) – this policy will be strictly enforced on meeting days.

Parking accessible to the general public – is available in the Lot of Whitford (GPS address: 110 Whitford Drive) on Whitford Drive from Science Drive. The car park opens Thursday at 7:00 a.m., Friday at 7:00 a.m. and Saturday at 7:00 a.m. A disabled-accessible drop-off/pick-up point is available on Whitford Drive, outside the Brandaleone Family North entrance to Morris Williams Stadium. Please speak to the parking attendant at the foot of Whitford Drive for access to parking and drop off. Accessible overflow parking to the Science Drive visitor lot and an accessible shuttle will be available at event crossovers with Duke Baseball.

NCAA WOMEN’S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP PARKING INFORMATION – FRIDAY

General public parking – is available in the Blue zone Lots B-3 and B-5 (GPS address: 2300 Duke University Road) located on Duke University Road between NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Towerview Road. The car park opens on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Parking is free. Please speak to the lot attendant at the foot of Wannamaker Drive for access. Lots B-3 and B-5 are the second and third driveways on the left after passing the parking barrier.

Parking accessible to the general public – is available in the Pack of cards (GPS address: 320 Towerview Road). The car park opens on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Parking is free. An accessible drop-off/pick-up point is available at the map lot located just outside the general public entrance to Ambler Tennis Stadium. Please speak to the grounds attendant for parking and drop off access.

In the event of inclement weather and the match being moved to the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Centre, the Grounds Attendant will redirect accessible parking to Blue Zone B-1 court for accessible access to the indoor facility.

Parking General Public Garage – EVERY DAY – is available in Science Walk Garage (GPS address: 3100 Cameron Blvd..) located at NC 751/Cameron Blvd. The car park opens Friday at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The Science Drive garage entrance is located at the permit entrance of NC 751/Cameron Blvd. – no parking available at the JB Duke hotel. Parking is free. There is no tailgating allowed in the garage (including the roof) – this policy will be strictly enforced on match day.

Tailgate Public Car Park – FRIDAY AND SATURDAY – is available in the Chemistry bundle on Circuit Drive (click link for Google Maps Pin) and Jogging path located at NC 751/Cameron Blvd. between Science Drive and Duke University Road. The Baseball Tailgate parking lot opens Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Parking is free. REMINDER – For the safety of all guests, tents, tables, tarps and awnings are NOT permitted if they span additional parking spaces or impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

Tailgate Public Car Park – SUNDAY – is available in the Ground and Jogging path, both located at NC 751/Cameron Blvd. between Science Drive and Duke University Road. The Baseball Tailgate parking lot opens Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Parking is free. REMINDER – For the safety of all guests, tents, tables, tarps and awnings are NOT permitted if they span additional parking spaces or impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
