the hotel

Park Hyatt Kyoto opened to the public in October 2019 in one of the city’s best-preserved historic areas, the Higashiyama Hills. The architectural project was carried out by the Japanese studio Takenaka, also responsible for Terminal 4 at Singapore Changi Airport. The hotel is next to Kodai-ji Temple and within walking distance of many of Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and offers stunning views of the city and Yasaka Pagoda.

This luxurious 68 square meter hillside hideaway features a separate living room and bedroom. The interior of this sprawling suite is subtle and inviting, following a design concept inspired by the mountains. Fragrant tamo wood and local materials anchor centuries-old tradition in a modern space.

This is a standard suite, see World of Hyatt program terms for upgrade eligibility.

conclusion

This property is cleverly integrated into the landscape of the district, and the staggered distribution of the various buildings of the complex guarantees a breathtaking view of the hills of Kyoto. The room is spacious (especially by Japanese standards!) and nicely decorated (and have you seen that minibar?). This Park Suite is considered a standard suite in World of Hyatt, so upgrades are possible.
