Suspect Wearing Santa Claus Sweater Charged After Nashville Hotel Shooting | WJHL
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) – A 24-year-old man has been arrested after several shots were fired at a downtown Nashville hotel early Sunday morning.
According to a warrant, the incident started as a physical altercation at the Margaritaville Hotel between Christopher Thomas and one of the victims.
Police said the victim and two others then left the Margaritaville Hotel and were on their way to the Hyatt Place hotel when Thomas was seen in the passenger seat of his friend’s Chevrolet Silverado truck.
An affidavit indicated that Thomas then fired two shots in their direction, one of which smashed the front window of the Hyatt House. At the same time, a woman got out of her Uber and entered the building in the lobby as shells were fired nearby.
Officers said they received a description of Thomas’ clothes, which was a Santa Claus sweater, blue jeans and a white jacket. Police then located the Silverado where Thomas was sitting in the passenger seat. In the truck, officials said they recovered the gun and found two empty cartridge cases.
Thomas faces several charges, including reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.
Tyler Wine was also arrested along with Thomas. He was charged with impaired driving, implied consent and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.
