West Boca Raton Chinese restaurant cited by health inspector

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – Zhen Wei Fang at 9858 Clint Moore Road – near the intersection of 441 – was just warned by a Florida Department health inspector of Business and Professional Regulation.

During the February 17 inspection, the restaurant was cited for 13 violations. Although the restaurant has not been closed, it is subject to an unannounced follow-up inspection.

In accordance with BocaNewsNow.com policy, we publish the actual text used in the formal complaint filed by DBPR. Here is the list of violations:

High Priority – Operating with an expired license from the Hotel and Restaurant Division. **Warning**

Intermediate – Food contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or mud…can opener blade…food containers in the kitchen. **Warning**

Intermediate – The hand washing sink is not accessible to employees at all times…blocked by a large convection oven in the kitchen. **Warning**

Intermediate – Hand wash sink removed from food prep/dishwasher area. Must be reinstalled in same place where removed by POS server and way to bathroom. **Warning**

Intermediate – Lack of toilet paper at each toilet in the women’s bathroom **Attention**

Intermediate – No chemical test kit provided when using sanitizer in three compartment sink/dishwasher or wiping cloths. **Warning**

Intermediate – No paper towels or mechanical hand drying device provided at handwashing sink…all handwashing sinks. **Warning**

Intermediate – No evidence of required state-approved employee training provided for employees. To order program-approved food safety equipment, call the DBPR-contracted supplier: Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Intermediate – No soap provided at sink for hand washing…all sinks for hand washing. **Warning**

Basic – Buildup of black/green mold-like substance inside ice maker/bin. **Warning**

Basic – Equipment or utensils cleaned and sanitized improperly stored….ice scoop stored directly on ice maker. **Warning**

Basic – Equipment in poor condition…several litters in cooler not working to maintain proper temperature. **Warning**

Basic – Non-food contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, mud or dust…all shelves in the facility. **Warning**

The restaurant was closed by a DBPR inspector in 2020 due to multiple violations. These violations were eventually corrected and the restaurant was allowed to reopen.
